We’re also excited to announce a return to Free Tickets with Public Access Theater!

For too long, theater has only been available to some of us— but if we work together, we can make it available to all of us!

Under Public Access Theater, we make all of our tickets Free and you help us do it by donating.


SEASON LINEUP

The season opens Oct 13th with Barbecue. A family meets up in their local park for some BBQ and some real talk with their sister— brought to you by the creative team behind last year’s hit, The Wind and the Breeze.


This December, join us for a holiday show performed live at The West Side Show Room!!


To celebrate the WSSR’s 10th Anniversary, we are bringing back our beloved first show— love ‘em or hate ‘em— the Vampire Lesbians of Sodom!


In March, we are thrilled to bring you Sarah Ruhl’s eccentric comic-noir Dead Man’s Cell Phone, a “spiritual sequel” to her acclaimed play Eurydice.


Rescheduled to Spring 2025 is the premiere performance of a new version of this big comedy about small problems— The Irish Curse.


WSSR presents the Chicago cult-favorite Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind (30 plays in 60 minutes)!


SPECIAL EVENTS

We are currently accepting submissions of new 10 minute works written for performance. This year’s theme is “What I Learned From My Ex:

Submissions are due OCT 15, 2023 and a staged reading of the final selections will be presented FEB 2-4, 2024.
